- Toru Shoji
Dr Shoji is board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology and dermatopathology. He received his medical degree and doctorate from Toho University School of Medicine, Tokyo, Japan, and completed his residency training at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Brown University. He completed a postdoctoral fellowship in the Department of Dermatology at Boston University under Dr Barbara Gilchrest, a fellowship in dermatopathology including 6 months of dermatology at Boston Medical Center under Dr Jag Bhawan, and a fellowship in surgical pathology at Montefiore Medical Center, Albert Einstein College of Medicine under Dr J.J. Steinberg. He is a fellow of the College of American Pathologists, the American Society of Clinical Pathologists, the American Society of Dermatopathology, and an associate member of the American Academy of Dermatology. He has authored many articles on endocrine science, melanocytic lesions, and other adnexal neoplasms in basic science and clinical journals. Dr Shoji was an assistant professor of dermatology and pathology at Mount Sinai School of Medicine. He joined Labcorp pathology in 2000 and served as a medical director in dermatopathology and immunopathology before joining Laboratory of Dermatopathology, where he served as a director of immunopathology. In June 2009, he rejoined Labcorp pathology as a medical director of dermatopathology.
