Lixia Liu

Subspecialty Medical Director of Gastrointestinal Pathology, Labcorp CMBP

Dr Liu is board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology. She specializes in GI pathology, with fellowship training from M.D. Anderson Cancer Center and decades of experience thereafter.  She earned her medical degree from Inner Mongolia Medical University, China. She also received her postgraduate training and was appointed as an assistant professor at Peking Union Medical University, Beijing, China. Dr. Liu earned her PhD from the University of Louisville in Kentucky. Dr Liu completed residency training in anatomic and clinical pathology at the University of Wisconsin and University of Louisville. She then completed a fellowship in gastrointestinal and liver pathology at the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. Her clinical interests include gastrointestinal pathology, immunohistochemistry, and molecular oncology. Dr Liu has extensive research experience and a number of publications in peer-reviewed journals. Her clinical research in esophageal carcinoma and neuroendocrine tumors has resulted in publications in the American Journal of Surgical Pathology and Modern Pathology. She joined LabCorp Pathology at CMBP in 2005.
