Dr Shen is board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology and dermatopathology. He received his medical degree from Shanghai Medical University, Shanghai, China, and holds a doctorate in biochemistry and molecular biology from the Chicago Medical School in North Chicago, Ill. Dr Shen completed his pathology residency training at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) School of Medicine where he was chief resident physician, a surgical pathology fellow, and a dermatopathology fellow. He was the winner of 2 NIH National Service Awards in tumor pathology and the College of American Pathologists Foundation’s Informatics Awards for 3 consecutive years. Previously, Dr Shen practiced as a general pathologist in the Southern California Permanente Medical Group, Anaheim, Calif.
